    Rhipsalis cereuscula

    Rhipsalis cereuscula is native to tropical rainforests in Uruguay and Brazil. It is a shrubby jungle cactus that is an epiphyte that grows on tree trunks and rocks (lithophytic). Its common name refers to the clusters of tiny, cylindrical “rice” shaped joints that are formed at the ends of long, slender branches.

    Rebutia heliosa

    Rebutia heliosa is a hardy native of Bolivia. This small clustered cactus thrives in high deserts, regularly as high as 10,000 feet above sea level. If given the proper conditions in winter, its cylindrical 1mm long spikes and curved heads give way to brilliant orange blossoms in the springtime.

    Plerandra elegantissima

    Plerandra elegantissima is a flowering plant with distinct dark, finger-like leaves that is native to New Caledonia, a French territory off the coast of Australia. In the wild, this plant can become a full blown tree up to 50 feet tall. As a popular houseplant for color contrast, its slender toothed leaves remind one of a darker marijuana plant. For better or worse, there is very little relation. Keep an eye out for clusters of pale green flowers come fall, followed by inedible black fruit.

    Matucana madisoniorum

    Matucana madisoniorum is a small, globular cactus that grows natively in a tiny region of Peru. Due to collecting and grazing goats in the area, it is now highly endangered. Some specimens have long spines while others are completely naked. Naked plants are often mistaken for Lophophora williamsii, or peyote. Look out for sunbursts of flowers whenever conditions are right.

    Sansevieria cylindrica 'Boncel'

    Sansevieria cylindrica 'Boncel' is a fan-shaped Sansevieria species that grows spikes from the central point of the plant. This Sansevieria is native to Angola. The boncel prefers bright sun, warm temperatures, and low humidity.

    Scindapsus Pictus

    Satin Pothos are native to Southeast Asia to the western Pacific. These vining, climbing plants are notable for their fuzzy, heart-shaped leaves and tight growing habit. They are often compared visually and in care requirements to their Araceae family member the Golden Pothos, which is one of the most popular houseplants in North America. Like the Golden Pothos, Scindapsus Pictus houseplants make great specimens for hanging baskets or trained on moss poles.
